Leadership

The Church of Christ at Milestone is made up of many members (1 Co. 12:12) working together carrying out the Lord's work.  Every single member is a vital part of the congregation (Rm. 12:3-5).  We are blessed to have qualified elders, deacons and preachers to serve the congregation (Ep. 4:11).

Elders

According to scripture, the New Testament church is overseen by elders.  This is not just one man, but a plurality of men that meet certain qualifications.  They are sometimes referred to in scripture as bishops, shepherds and overseers.  you may read more in God'w rod regarding them and their qualifications in the following passages (1 Ti. 3:-13; Ti. 1:5-9; 1 Pt. 5:1-5; Ep.4:11-16; Hb. 13:7, 17; Jn. 13:1-20; Jn. 10:1-19; Mt. 20:20-28; Lk. 22:24-27).

We have been blessed to have faithful, qualified men to oversee the work through the years and are thankful for them.  We are equally thankful for these type of men that are continuing to oversee the work.

Deacons

In the New Testament church one reads of the position of a Deacon.  These are men that meet the qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:8-13.  Their work is under the direction of the elders and is to be servants in carrying out certain aspects of the congregation's work.  We are privileged to have qualified men to serve in this capacity.

Preachers

It is important that all Christians realize that they are to be carrying out the great commission (Mt. 28:18-20).  In the New Testament church there is much emphasis placed on preaching the Gospel (1 Co. 1:21).  There are many passages that authorize a preacher for a congregation (1 Co. 9:6-14; 2 Co. 11:8).  In the New Testament these men can be called preachers, evangelists or ministers.  The Church of Christ at Milestone has full-time preachers that focus on preaching the Gospel to evangelize and edify.
